New Silk Road: 13,817 trains and more than 1.33 million TEUs from Jan. to Nov. 2021

The National Development and Reform Commission ( NDRC ) of China stated that by the end of November 2021, China-Europe freight trains had operated 47,414 trips, carried more than 4.29 million TEUs, and transported 13.43 million packages of anti-epidemic materials, totaling 103,000 tons.

According to Meng Wei, spokesperson of the NDRC of China, in November 2021, the China-Europe freight train has operated 1,246 trips, transporting 120,000 TEUs, an increase of 1% and 4% year-on-year respectively, and the comprehensive heavy container rate was 99.4%. More than a thousand trains have been operated in a single month for 19 consecutive months.

From January to November this year, a total of 13,817 trains transporting 1.332 million TEUs, an increase of 23% and 30% year-on-year respectively, and the comprehensive heavy container rate was 98.1%.
