China-Europe freight trains in 2022: 16,000 Trips and 1.6 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 9% and 10%

The data of China Railway Group shows that in 2022, 16,000 China-Europe freight trains have been operated, which transported 1.6 million TEUs of goods, representing a year-on-year increase of 9% and 10% respectively.

In terms of border crossing points, more than 7,000 China-Europe freight trains have passed through the Khorgos Port, with an average daily traffic of 19 trains. Mor than 6,000 trains have passed through the Port of Alashankou, another China-Kazakhstan railroad port in Xinjiang, with a daily average of more than 17 trains.

In additions, 756,000 TEUs of goods have been transported via the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, which connects the western and southwestern China with the ASEAN countries, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.5%.

On the first anniversary of its operation, China-Laos Railway has sent 8.5 million passengers, transported 11.2 million tons of goods, operated 3,000 cross-border cargo trains, and transported goods worth over 13 billion RMB across the border.
