China-Europe freight train from Xi’an in 2022: 4,600 trips and carrying more than 4 million tons of goods

The Chang’an China-Europe freight train service, a vital transport link between Europe and Xi’an City in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, opened a new route on the first day of 2023. The Train, fully loaded with home appliances and furniture produced in the Pearl River Delta region in South China (Guangdong Province), departed from Xi’an to Europe. The new route extends 11,700 kilometers and takes about 14 days to reach Europe.

It is reported that this freight train which links Guangdong and Shaanxi Province, will operate at least one train per week, and the container cargoes transported will be delivered from Guangzhou to Xi’an port by railroad and then sent to Europe by China-Europe freight train (Chang’an) from Xi’an International Port Station.

In 2022, the annual operation of China-Europe freight train (Chang’an) exceed 4,600 trains, carrying more than 4 million tons of total weight of goods.
